Welcome to Cryptocurrently
A newsletter about crypto, NFTs and all the other shiny things that grab my attention
This is Cryptocurrently, a newsletter that shares my thoughts, analysis and insights into my current obsessions and interests. Most significant amongst these (right now) are my interests in all things blockchain related - NFTs and Cryptocurrency.
I started writing about 10 years ago - it was a means of trying to get my head straight, following my divorce and the years that followed as a part-time single dad. I found that writing helped to put my own thoughts in order, and as I built up the courage to publish, I learned the power and pleasure of helping others by sharing the lessons that life had taught me.
As life has moved on, so the things I’m most interested in and affected by have evolved. I still find it massively helpful to take the things I’ve learned and share the lessons with others - it seems to crystallise the learning and helps to pay-it-forward somehow. To that end, the subjects that I write about have evolved, but the mantra remains the same - to help myself by helping others.
2021 was the year I first began dabbling and exploring in the world of blockchain, drawn first by exploring cryptocurrency investing, and later by NFTs.
This newsletter then, documents my exploration and experimentation with crypto, NFT and blockchain, but with an occasional scattering of my writing on other things too - the sort of stuff that captures the attentions and energies of a 40-something guy:
Cybersecurity and tech (my ‘day-job’)
Web 3.0
Parenting, relationships and divorce (I still revisit this from time-to-time)
Personal development and self-improvement (but not in a preachy sense - just the things I have found that have improved my life and made me slightly more tolerable to be around)
Analysis, interpretation and occasional ranting on the state of the world and current affairs
Music
I’d like to think that the various elements of my writing incorporate common themes - breaking down challenges and obstacles that have seemed insurmountable, and sharing the things I’ve learned in the process.
